“Live” Leaps to 18-Week High

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending October 2, 2022.

Amid the widespread Hurricane Ian news preemptions that depressed many daytime shows in the session ending October 2, Live with Kelly and Ryan (18-week high 1.6 live plus same day national Nielsen, up 7% from the week before) notched its strongest ratings since last May and walked away with the No. 1 talk show ranking for a 19th straight week, including ties. The biggest audience draw of the week was its interview with Kim Kardashian, which shot up to a lofty 1.8 on September 26.

Dr. Phil (1.4, steady) snared second place .

The new season’s three freshmen talkers, Sherri (0.7, unchanged), Jennifer Hudson (0.6, steady) and Karamo (0.3, steady), all held their ground despite preemptions.

Access time period movers included the two top-rated magazines Inside Edition (2.3, up 5%) and Entertainment Tonight (20-week high 2.1, up 5%).

Jeopardy (5.0, unchanged) and Family Feud (5.0, up 4%) tied for the game show and overall syndication lead.
