“Judy” Jumps to Top of Syndication World

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending May 9, 2021.

Daytime dynamo Judge Judy (10-week high 5.5, up 8% from the week before and up 28% from the week before that) overruled everything else and vaulted into first place among all syndicated shows in the session ending May 9.

Finishing second and third were Family Feud (5.3, down 4%) and Jeopardy (5.2, up 8%) with guest-host Bill Whitaker.

“Judy,” in its final first-run season after 25 years, grew nearly 30% in the prior two weeks and has led the court shows every week for more than 24 years.

The talk show race continued to be a very close one among the top two shows, although the rest of the group came in far behind. Dr. Phil (1.8, up 6%) took over the weekly lead with Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.7, steady) a strong second. No other talker rated above a 0.9.
