“Access Hollywood” Lands Triple-Digit Post Olympic Comeback

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending February 27, 2022.

The first week following the Beijing Winter Olympics, the session ending February 27, turned out to be ratings gold for several of the of the most successful syndicated shows.

Access Hollywood (0.8 live plus same day national Nielsen, up 100% from the week before) was the most dramatic example. The daily magazine grew its audience by an average of 627,000 total viewers each day and rocketed from sixth place into a tie for third with TMZ (0.8, unchanged).

Inside Edition (2.3, up 15%) and Entertainment Tonight (2.1, up 5%) led the category.

Jeopardy (5.9, up 9%) regained the top spot among game shows from Family Feud (5.7, up 2%). 

Dr. Phil (1.7, up 13%) jumped up to tie Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.7, steady) at No. 1 among talk shows.

Ellen DeGeneres (0.9, up 29%) boasted the biggest week-to-week gain in the top ten, growing by an average 381,000 viewers each day and tying the rapidly climbing Kelly Clarkson (0.9, up 13%) for the bronze.

Court shows were ruled by Judge Judy (4.8, up 7%) and Hot Bench (1.5, up 7%).
