“Kelly Clarkson” & “Tamron Hall” Heat Up Talk Ratings
Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending August 29, 2021.
Sophomores Kelly Clarkson (0.8 live plus same day national Nielsen, up 14% from the week before) and Tamron Hall (0.7, up 17%) were the only talkers able to shrug off numerous preemptions for Afghanistan news and notch higher ratings in the session ending August 29. The former was in repeats all week while the latter aired encores on four of the five days.
Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.6, steady), the top rated talk show of the entire 2020-21 season, was No. 1 for a 16th straight week despite being on summer hiatus.
Among the biggest gainers in other categories were day and date magazine Extra (nine-week high 0.7, up 17%) and gaveler Hot Bench (1.5, up 7%).
On the other hand, prime time access game show Jeopardy (new season low 3.9, down 3%) continued to languish with a second week of “Around the World with Alex” reruns.
