Guest Host Rodgers Rallies “Jeopardy”

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending April 11, 2021.

Jeopardy (four-week high 5.6 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 14% from the week before) led all of syndication in the session ending April 11 – its first go-round with Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers at the podium.

Family Feud (5.2, up 2%), which had topped the chart for the previous three weeks, was next edging Wheel of Fortune (5.1, up 4%).

Despite lower weekly PUT levels syndicated strips were generally stronger although some shows were bounced by the March Madness final on April 5.

Entertainment Tonight (2.2, up 10%) was the highest rated magazine, clocking its best household ratings in three weeks and improving 13% among W25-54. The only other demo gainer in the category was Extra (0.7, steady), which rose 33% in the target age group.

Talk show leaders Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.7, up 6%) and Dr. Phil (1.7, up 6%) finished miles ahead of the field in a first place tie for a second straight week. In W25-54 rookie Drew Barrymore (0.3 demo rating, up 50%) spiked, tying such long-running hits as Wendy Williams (0.3 demo rating, down 25%) and Maury (0.3 demo rating, down 25%).

Judge Judy (4.8 household rating, up 4%) crushed the courtrooms for a record 1,281 consecutive weeks and ruled daytime in this, its 25th and final season.
