Magid announces Alberto Melgoza as Head of Technical Innovation for Local Media

Accomplished data and analytics leader brings extensive experience with top tech and media companies including Google, NBCU (Comcast) and GE


LOS ANGELES, May 9, 2023 Alberto Melgoza has joined Magid’s Local Media team as Head of Technical Innovation, furthering the company’s commitment to advancements in data science. Melgoza brings a deep technical background to the practice, with more than 15 years of experience using data and analytics solutions to accelerate business objectives for Fortune 50 companies.Alberto Melgoza is pictured in a professional business headshot.

His expertise in humanizing data will serve as an invaluable tool to provide our clients with foresight and help them win,” said Jaime Spencer, Executive Vice President and Head of Local Media at Magid. 

Throughout his career, Melgoza has managed several digital transformation initiatives resulting in efficiencies to support long-term business growth for companies including Google, NCBU (Comcast) and GE. He has expertise in enterprise analytics, business intelligence, data engineering and data science in complex global landscapes. Most recently, Melgoza served as founder and product manager of an in-house startup at Google, where he also previously held roles in data engineering and product development.

“I’m thrilled to take on this role, giving me the opportunity to return to my roots in media and entertainment and work with the dedicated team of data scientists at Magid. My focus will be on using the latest advancements in data science and AI technology to empower our teams and clients, allowing them to create captivating stories for audiences everywhere,” said Melgoza. 

Melgoza holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic and communications engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, and a master’s in information and data science from The University of California, Berkeley. He is based in the greater Los Angeles area.
