Alex Trebek’s “Jeopardy” is top game show for 10th straight week

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending March 8.

Although breaking news coverage of Super Tuesday put a damper on most programs in the session ending March 8, the Alex Trebek-hosted Jeopardy (6.4 live plus same day national rating, unchanged from the week before) led the game shows for the tenth frame in a row.

Family Feud (6.1, down 3%) and Wheel of Fortune (6.1, unchanged) were not far behind.

Tying “Jeopardy” at the top of the entire weekly chart was Judge Judy (6.4, down 3%) despite being in repeats for part of the session. “Judy,” the overall ratings champion season-to-date, was the number one gaveler for the 1,224^th straight week, with higher numbers than all of the other veteran court shows added together.

Turning to the talkers Dr. Phil (2.4, down 14%) remained in command for the sixth straight week and the 179^th time in the past 183 weeks even though it was in reruns on two of the five days.

Live with Kelly and Ryan (2.0, steady) secured sole possession of second place for a second consecutive week.

The other highly-rated talk shows were Ellen DeGeneres (1.9, unchanged), rookie sensation Kelly Clarkson (1.3, steady), syndication’s top newcomer, and veteran Wendy Williams (1.3, stable).
