“Tamron,” “Clarkson,” “Live” celebrate new highs in pre-Xmas week

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending December 20, 2020.

Big talkers Live with Kelly and Ryan (new season high 2.1 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 11% from the week before), Tamron Hall (new season high 1.0, up 11%) and Kelly Clarkson (new season high 1.2, up 9%) were the only syndies able to celebrate their best ratings of the television year in the week before Christmas session ending December 20.

For the first time sophomore “Tamron” tied veteran gab fest Ellen DeGeneres (1.0, down 9%) with both shows laying claim to fourth place out of the 14 programs in the talk field.

Just ahead of “Hall” was fellow sophomore hit “Kelly Clarkson,” which climbed into third place.

Live with Kelly and Ryan broke a tie with the formidable Dr. Phil (1.9, steady) to lead the yak pack.

Judge Judy (5.7, up 2%) ruled the court shows for the 1,265th straight week and was syndication’s top show overall for the 14th time in the past 18 weeks.
