Rick Garlick to present findings from Magid THL tracker at SITE and TTRA events

Research looks at consumer behavior and attitudes towards the travel, hospitality and leisure categories

NEW YORK, June 22, 2020 – Magid announced today that Vice President and Strategy Consultant Rick Garlick will be presenting findings from its Travel, Hospitality, Fitness and Leisure (THL) tracker at upcoming events for travel associations SITE and TTRA.

Magid’s THL consumer insights tracker looked at the evolving consumer behavior, attititudes and future views of these industries in relation to the coronavirus.

In the first wave of this research, fielded April 7-10, Magid found that there were significant deficits in trust throughout the travel, hospitality and leisure sectors, as fewer than half of consumers trusted the industry to take the necessary steps to ensure their health and safety in the future.

Consumers also reported a hesitancy to reengage with certain activities within six months, such as taking a cruise or staying overnight in a private vacation rental.

In an online forum for the Travel and Tourism Research Assocation (TTRA) on June 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET and in a webinar for the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) on June 26 at 11:00 a.m. ET, Garlick will present key findings from the next phase of this Magid research conducted late May into early June.

Garlick will also provide specific steps that companies can take to regain consumer’s trust and re-ignite engagement within the travel, hospitality and leisure industries.
