Marissa Nelson Promoted to Vice President, Consulting, Joins Magid’s Local Media Leadership Team
MINNEAPOLIS – June 8, 2021 – Magid announces the promotion of Marissa Nelson, who will join the Local Media leadership team as Vice President, Consulting. In this position, Marissa will lead the local media core consulting team and play a critical role in defining and executing the division’s overarching strategy.
The seasoned news executive joined Magid in July 2020, bringing 20 years of multi-platform journalism experience, including network and local media.

Immediately prior to joining Magid, Nelson led the local media operations for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Ontario. She led a group of eight CBC, multi-platform stations including three TV markets (Toronto, a top-4 market in North America and Ottawa, a top-20 market), seven radio stations and one digital-only station.
She also previously ran digital for CBC, making it the top digital news source in the country, as well as Canada’s largest newspaper, the Toronto Star. She started her career as a newspaper reporter.
