“Live with Kelly and Ryan” Tops Talk for Second Straight Week

Live with Kelly and Ryan (2.5 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, down 4% from the week before) was syndication’s highest rated talk show for the second week in a row in the session ending April 5, shooting up 9% from last year at this time.

Usual top talker Dr Phil (2.1, steady), which was partially in repeats, was hit with numerous pandemic news preemptions throughout the frame.

Ellen DeGeneres (1.6, down 6%) was next in line.

The sole first-run strip moving up at a double-digit pace was freshman hit Tamron Hall (1.1, up 10%), which matched its season high.  The program, which began featuring fresh segments originating from Hall’s home about the coronavirus in addition to highlights from previous episodes, drew a show record 1.49-million viewers, up 19% over its season average.

The highest rated newcomer remained Kelly Clarkson (1.3, steady), which avoided any declines despite being in reruns all week.

Among the closely-watched magazines Access Hollywood (1.2, up 9%) was the strongest percentage gainer.
