“Live with Kelly and Ryan” Rolls to Fifth Straight Win in Talk Race

Morning TV favorite Live with Kelly and Ryan (2.2 live plus same day national Nielsen, steady with the week before) gave rivals a big wake-up call in the session ending April 26, convincingly topping the talk shows for the fifth week in a row.

On the other hand, very few syndicated programs were able to move up in the frame due to preemptions for daily news reports on the COVID-19 outbreak throughout the week.  In addition some shows were bumped for coverage of the NFL Draft.

For example, season to date talk leader Dr Phil (1.8, down 10%) and Ellen DeGeneres (1.7, down 11%) were both impeded.

Judge Judy (6.1, down 5%), the highest-rated show of the season by far, was the top daytime program despite being in repeats for most of the week.

Judge Judy Sheindlin’s creation Hot Bench (2.1, steady) was the number three show in daytime – just a tenth of a point behind talk leader “Kelly and Ryan” — even though the hit courtroom strip aired reruns on all five days.

Elsewhere Family Feud (7.1, down 1%) broke a tie with Jeopardy (6.3, down 13%) and claimed sole possession of first place among the game shows.
