“Judy” Jumps to 10-Week High

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending January 29, 2023.

Despite being completely out of original production for nearly two years, court show superstar Judge Judy (10-week high 4.6 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 7% from the week before) remained the dominant force in daytime syndication and was one of just two top-ten strips able to score an increase in the mostly quiet session ending January 29.

Access game show Family Feud (new season high 5.3, up 4%) was the only other winner on the chart’s big ten.

The sole strip among the top ten talkers in the plus column was Drew Barrymore (0.9, up 13%) which recorded a nifty 50% improvement from last year at this time. Meanwhile, Dr. Phil (1.5, steady) delivered a new season high in the advertiser-coveted W25-54 age group (0.6, up 20%) to tie Live with Kelly and Ryan (0.6 demo rating, 1.6 household rating) for the category lead in the key demo.

Pictionary (0.5, up 25%), the only newcomer to post a weekly gain, drew the most attention among the season’s six first-run rookies.
