“Judge Judy” shows rivals no mercy

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending June 13, 2021.

The closing argument will be a powerful one for Judge Judy (5.2 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 6% from the week before) as the show is about to vacate first run after 25 years.

In the session ending June 13 “Judy” more than tripled the rating for any other daytime program in syndication and topped the courts for the 1,290th week in a row.

The legal heavy-hitter brushed aside nearly four hours of preemptions for French Open Tennis on June 10 and more than six hours on June 11, which hampered most daytime shows.

Season to date in the most current household ratings (live+7) Judge Judy leads the entire chart and has been the top-rated first-run syndicated show overall every year since 2009.

Elsewhere in daytime Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.6 live plus same day national Nielsen, down 6%) finished first among talk shows for a fifth straight week. Repeats of Dr. Phil (1.4, down 7%) took second.

In access closely-watched Jeopardy (5.1, up 4%) rose in its final frame with guest host Mayim Bialik at the podium.

Family Feud (5.9, up 9%) ruled the game shows.

ET (2.0, up 5%) set the pace in the entertainment magazine race.

Among off-net weekly hours Dateline (2.8, down 24%) lost ground but continued to prevail.
