“Jeopardy’ Leads for Second Week

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending September 25, 2022.

Jeopardy (5.0 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 2% from the week before) made it two weeks in a row at the top of the quiz and giveaway shows in the session ending September 25.

Among the closely-watched new syndication entries, a strong second week for rookie game show Pictionary (0.5, up 25%) lit up the chart with the largest percentage increase among all freshmen shows.

Turning to the new talkers, Sherri (0.7, unchanged) held a narrow lead over Jennifer Hudson (0.6, down 14%), which gave ground after going up against coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral on September 19.  Hudson was still far ahead of Nick Cannon – the show it mainly replaced – improving on it by 100%.  Breaking out of the starting gate was rookie Karamo (0.3, premiere week), which stars the popular Karamo Brown of “Queer Eye” fame.

The overall talk leader for the 18th week in a row – including ties – was Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.5, up 7%).  Dr Phil (1.4, up 8%) was a close second.

The Billy Bush-hosted Extra (0.6, up 20%) had the strongest percentage increase among the magazine shows, tying TMZ (0.6, unchanged) for fourth place in the genre.
