Magid names Kerri Cavanaugh Senior Consultant, Media Strategy Group
MINNEAPOLIS, October 10, 2018 – Magid announces the hiring of Kerri Cavanaugh as Senior Consultant, Media Strategy Group. Cavanaugh joins Magid on October 15, 2018, bringing a strong local media background with award-winning experience leading news teams in various markets.
Cavanaugh most recently served as Vice President of News for Tribune Broadcasting’s local stations in Indianapolis, WXIN-TV Channel 59 and WTTV-TV Channel 4. In her time there, she was responsible for overseeing a staff of 165 people and more than 90 hours of news each week, launching 7:00 and 11:00 p.m. newscasts for her market-leading Fox station. In the 2015 Indianapolis affiliation switch, Cavanaugh hired more than 60 people and launched a CBS news brand from the ground up in 144 days.

Cavanaugh has been named Broadcasting & Cable’s News Director of the Year, and has won multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards. Prior to her role in Indianapolis, she worked as news director in Miami and Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has worked as a producer and executive producer in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida.
