MINNEAPOLIS, December 10, 2019 – Magid announces the hiring of gaming industry expert Matt Bertz as Vice President, Games. Bertz officially joined the company in Minneapolis on November 25, 2019.

Having worked with major AAA game publishers and developers in his role as Managing Editor of Game Informer Magazine, Bertz brings a deep understanding of the business and will play a key role in advising clients.

Bertz brings 17 years of industry experience to his role at Magid. Prior to Magid, Bertz served as Managing Editor at Game Informer Magazine, the third largest magazine in the world with a circulation of over seven million, where he aided in the conceptualization of two award-winning and effective GameInformer.com website redesigns. Prior to that, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the gaming culture magazine Surge which won a 2004 silver Eddie Award for best entertainment magazine. Bertz also worked on the technology magazines Laptop, PC Upgrade, and Tech Edge and has written for outlets like IGN, Newsweek, Men’s Fitness, and Inked. He holds a B.A. in print journalism and English from the University of St. Thomas.
