Jason Rice joins Magid’s Gaming and Esports practice as Director of Qualitative Research

NEW YORK, May 15, 2019 – Magid announces the hiring of qualitative research expert Jason Rice. Rice officially joined the company’s Gaming and Esports practice on May 6, 2019. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, he’ll play a significant role in leading research and consulting projects for clients in both domestic and international markets.

Magid’s Gaming and Esports practice is a leading provider of quantitative and qualitative research, and consulting that helps top developers, publishers, operators as well as up-and-comers understand the mind of the consumer and market trends impacting the space. The company’s gaming and esports clients benefit from working directly with knowledgeable, passionate gamers who are authorities in both the space and their unique discipline, while having access to Magid’s 60-plus-year Global Media & Entertainment practice experts who are on the front lines of adjacent market disruption.

“The broader global media and entertainment industry is seeing an explosion of activity and interest in the gaming and esports space,” says Kate Morgan, Chief Product Officer and head of Magid’s Global Media & Entertainment and Gaming & Esports practices. “As the broader market continues to transform and gaming evolves with technology that can support cloud gaming for example, we are working to deliver the ultimate experience and insights to our clients.”

Rice joins Magid having spent the past four years at Greenberg Strategy where he led multiple engagements for clients such as PlayStation, EA, Facebook, Microsoft, Dell, ESPN, and MLB. He’s traveled globally, conducting qualitative sessions to help inform brand positioning, concept evaluation and refinement, product development, and explore white space opportunities. Prior to Greenberg, he was a freelance writer and analyst, contributing to video game culture sites Unwinnable, Pixels or Death, Medium Difficulty, and Paste Magazine. In addition to his gaming industry work, he’s also done work in the social media and education sectors and is a former high school English teacher.
