Game Show Race Tightens

Game Show Race Tightens

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending April 18, 2021.

Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was thrown for a loss in the session ending April 18, which was his second week guest-hosting Jeopardy (5.5 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, down 2% from the week before). Gaining ground and closing fast were rival quiz and give-away shows Family Feud (5.3, up 2%) and Wheel of Fortune (5.3, up 4%).

Ratings for most of the other syndicated programs were unchanged week to week.

For example the only talk show in the top five able to break into positive territory was Tamron Hall (0.8, up 14%). “Tamron,” which was recently renewed, also raced ahead 33% to a 0.4 in the advertiser-coveted W25-54 demo and marked its 300th episode on April 14th.

Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.7, steady) and Dr. Phil (1.7, steady) finished in a dead heat at the top of the talkers for the third week in a row.

Magazines were all on par with the prior frame except for Inside Edition (2.2, up 5%), which tied Entertainment Tonight (2.2, steady) for first place.

Judge Judy (4.9, up 2%) blew away the court shows for the 1,282nd consecutive week.
