“ET” Hits 9-Week High

“ET” Hits 9-Week High

Review based on a national syndicated rating report for the week ending August 14, 2022.

While most syndicated shows were flat to down in the summer session ending August 14, Emmy-winner Entertainment Tonight (9-week high 2.0 live plus same day national Nielsen, up 11% from the week before) hit its biggest rating in more than two months. That gave ET the week’s largest increase of any strip in prime access despite the program being preempted by preseason football in several key markets, including New York, on August 12. In the advertiser-coveted W25-54 age group, the show (0.7 demo rating, up 17%) led all magazines.

Inside Edition (2.1 household rating, up 5%), which is paired with the aforementioned top entertainment news series in many markets, was the only magazine besides ET in the plus column.

Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.4, down 7%) was the highest-rated talk show for the 12th consecutive week, including five ties with Dr. Phil.

Dr. Phil (1.3, down 7%), in reruns all week, snared second place.

Ellen DeGeneres (0.7, up 17%), which is no longer in production, was the only one of the 15 talkers in the plus column.
