“Dr. Phil” widens lead over largely steady talkers, “Kelly Clarkson” climbs

For the fourth week in a row Dr. Phil (six week high 2.0 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 5% from the week before) was the loudest voice among the 14 syndicated talk shows in the session ending July 12.
“Phil” attracted a genre-leading crowd of more than 2.6-million viewers each day even though the show was in repeats all week and has now led the yak pack for 188 of the past 201 weeks.
Most other talkers were stable.
Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.6, steady) snared second place with Ellen DeGeneres (1.1, unchanged) and Maury (1.1, unchanged) next.
Moving up sharply to within a tenth of a point of third place “Ellen” was newcomer Kelly Clarkson (1.0, up 11%). The season’s highest rated new show also rose 25% in the key W25-54 demo, tying “Ellen,” with four days of “Summer Staycation” episodes from the former American Idol’s Los Angeles home.
Court shows Judge Judy (six week high 5.8, up 4%) and Hot Bench (2.0, steady) continued to rank as the two highest rated daytime strips for a fifth week in a row with “Bench” tying “Dr. Phil.”
Among magazines leaders Inside Edition (2.5, up 4%) and Entertainment Tonight (2.3, steady) were joined by Access Hollywood (1.1, up 10%), which grew by double digits.
