Magid is looking for an experienced executive who is a highly respected thought leader in media, advertising, or marketing/ insights to join our efforts in media sales research and consultation. This person must be extremely passionate about their specific area of focus, their network, and the growth and success of their clients. Magid is a research-based consulting firm that works with a variety of high-level marketing executives ranging from media and entertainment entities to Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms. In all cases, our advisory services capitalize on our distinctive strength and expertise – utilizing innovative primary and secondary research to inform strategic decision-making and drive growth.

Job Requirements

  • At least ten years of business experience in media, sales, marketing and/or business development
  • Preferred experience includes selling research, marketing, advertising, consulting and other intangible services
  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic background and evidence of innate intelligence
  • Possesses an established base of support/contacts in the media world
  • Ability to identify opportunities or problems and to prescribe and sell a solution
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity to solve unique and wide-ranging business challenges
  • Risk taker with great intellectual curiosity
  • Very competitive with the ability to visualize, set and accomplish goals
  • Extroverted, socially active and passionate about networking
  • Desire to work in a client-facing role
  • Ability to use PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Job Functions

  • Responsible for growing Magid’s local media client list and expanding relationships into adjacent industries
  • Assist in maximizing the revenue and growth of our media sales initiatives including Ad.Vantage, Magid Advertising Performance Research and sales strategy consultation
  • Develop complimentary consultative and research-based lines of business that meet the unique needs of our clients
  • Effectively leverages current network of contacts and develop new business/direct sales through direct sales, cold calling, lead generation, presentations, proposal writing and negotiations
  • Identifies and leverages the challenges facing both media outlets and marketers and positions our research and consulting services as solutions to these problems
  • Writes business proposals and prepares sales contracts
  • Performs various client related service activities as needed, including project management on projects sold, client management and travel to clients as needed
