Magid is disrupting the media and entertainment industry with our approach to data gathering, analysis and analytical tool- building. We’re providing data-driven guidance for the critical issues facing our clients, incorporating data science, particularly predictive analytics into solutions to drive our clients’ businesses. The Vice President, Data Science will lead the team responsible for developing statistical, machine learning, and optimization models for different Magid clients. The team is also responsible for all the relevant product analytics such as data, metrics, and experimentation and measurement frameworks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build an understanding across Magid of how data science can provide valuable solutions for our clients, either stand alone or in combination with primary research and consulting
  • Manage, grow, and motivate a group of skilled data scientists
  • Be a thought leader and go-to-expert in the space of predictive analytics
  • Lead and conduct deep-dive analyses to solve complex client business questions
  • Make data science concepts accessible to Magid verticals
  • Breaking down complex business questions into manageable chunks that can be solved via advanced analytics
  • Creative storytelling that brings to life actionable insights derived from the research
  • Making complex technical solutions easy to understand to non-technical clients and Magid stakeholders

Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Degree in Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages, such as R, Python, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting advanced analysis and data modeling on a variety of business scenarios
  • Experience designing, developing and implementing machine learning models to drive business impact
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with clients to solve their business problems leveraging analytics
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and rapidly changing, less structured environment
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and client confidentiality
  • Experience synthesizing analytics and statistical findings into easy-to-consume storylines, both visually and verbally, and provide recommendations for high level stakeholders and clients

Nice to Haves (But not Required)

  • Market research experience (especially in media & entertainment)
  • Experience with quantitative analysis on alternative media (podcasts, short form videos)
  • Experience working directly with clients to solve their business problems leveraging analytics
  • Data engineering experience
