Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Math, Statistics, Business, or related field

Experience: 2-4 years market research experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must, experience with SPSS a plus

Overview: Execute various aspects of market research projects under the supervision of a senior-level analyst. Responsibilities include project management and team communication, assisting with questionnaire design, overseeing programming and the sample process, monitoring fieldwork, assisting with analysis/reporting, and maintaining quality control throughout the entire process. This role provides an opportunity to understand various research methodologies and develop the skills needed to ultimately lead projects yourself.

Key responsibilities will include:

 

Project Management

  • Maintain and update project records (e.g. questionnaire versions, timelines, specification changes, etc.)
  • Ensure quality standards are being met at every phase in the project
  • Proactively participate in team meetings, and lead internal project management-related calls
  • Identify and provide recommendations to improve project efficiencies

 

Communication

  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate project execution and ensure project specifications, timelines, and quality standards are met
  • Communicate with clients regarding project status, needs, or timelines
  • Integrate feedback from team members and provide feedback when appropriate across project phases
  • Keep account manager informed on workstreams/issues that affect project costs and timelines
  • Provide initial recommendations for solutions when problems occur re: project execution
  • Be responsive to questions/requests and able to assist colleagues and clients when necessary

 

Questionnaire/Programming

  • Assist in questionnaire development (e.g. writing skip logic, programming notes, draft questions)
  • Test questionnaires online once programmed (e.g. test logic, identify issues, approve formatting, etc.)
  • Facilitate kick-off call with programmers to review survey flow, logic, and quota requirements
  • Update questionnaire based on feedback received or as a result of testing (e.g. changes needed)
  • Manage the delivery of questionnaire feedback to programming team
  • Keep track of questionnaire versions and keep changes/edits organized for future reference
  • Provide final approval to programmers after ensuring quality standards are met

 

Sample/Data Collection

  • Coordinate sample needs and fieldwork schedule with internal operations team
  • Review programmed sample-related quotas for accuracy in definition and targeted completes
  • Perform checks on soft launch data to ensure quality and data integrity (e.g. review skip patterns and verify counts on live data)
  • Coordinate client sample requirements (e.g. communicate counts needed, qualifications, etc.) and manage client sample file process (e.g. appending survey links, providing email vendor with file, etc.)
  • Provide final approval to clients, programmers, and sample providers on full launch, after ensuring quality standards are met

 

Data Preparation

  • Develop detailed data crosstab specifications (e.g. table details, banner points, stat testing needs, etc.)
  • Perform quality assurance checks on crosstabs when received
  • Utilize data application tools such as SPSS and Excel to interact with data
  • Perform intermediate statistical analysis on data (e.g. frequencies, means, stat testing, etc.)
  • Understand project-related analytics and how data should be prepared/provided for analysis

 

Analysis/Reporting

  • Assist in creating client reports (e.g. create template, build charts, input data, write headlines, etc.)
  • Conduct accurate and effective data analyses considering key client/project objectives
  • Update reports based on feedback received from team or clients
  • Perform quality checks on report content (e.g. data, text, etc.)
  • Work with the team in creating actionable recommendations for the client

 

Other

  • Stay current on trends and developments in market research and client-related industries
  • Assist in other areas as needed (e.g., assisting with proposals, formatting reports, quality control, etc.)
