Magid is seeking someone who has a passion for driving business growth to execute various aspects of market research projects for the Consumer Product team under the supervision of a senior-level researcher.  Responsibilities include report design & population, assisting with programming including reviewing links and monitoring the sample process and fieldwork, and maintaining quality control throughout the entire process. This role provides an opportunity to understand various research methodologies and develop the skills needed to ultimately lead projects yourself.

Key responsibilities will include:

Questionnaire/Programming

  • Program simple projects (or parts of projects) after training, with support from other team members
  • Test questionnaires online once programmed (e.g. test logic, identify issues, approve formatting, etc.)
  • Provide go ahead for client review after ensuring quality standards are met
  • On occasion, assist in questionnaire development (e.g. writing skip logic, programming notes, draft questions)

Analysis/Reporting

  • Design & create charts, graphs, tables, etc. for client reports
  • Review open ends & develop themes & include illustrative quotes in reports
  • Update reports based on feedback received from team or clients
  • Perform quality checks on report content (e.g. data, text, etc.)

Sample/Data Collection

  • Coordinate sample needs and fieldwork schedule with internal operations team
  • Review programmed sample-related quotas for accuracy in definition and targeted completes
  • Perform checks on soft launch data to ensure quality and data integrity (e.g. review skip patterns and verify counts on live data)

Data Preparation

  • Help to develop detailed data crosstab specifications (e.g. table details, banner points, stat testing needs, etc.)
  • Perform quality assurance checks on crosstabs when received
  • Potentially utilize data application tools such as Excel and SPSS to interact with data
  • With direction, perform intermediate statistical analysis on data (e.g. frequencies, means, stat testing, etc.) as needed
  • Assist in cleaning data based on rules decided in concert with project director

Project Management

  • Ensure quality standards are being met at every phase in the project
  • Proactively participate in team meetings, and lead internal project management-related calls
  • Identify and provide recommendations to improve project efficiencies
  • Maintain and update project records (e.g. questionnaire versions, timelines, specification changes, etc.)

Communication

  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate project execution and ensure project specifications, timelines, and quality standards are met
  • Provide initial recommendations for solutions when problems occur re: project execution
  • Be responsive to questions/requests and able to assist colleagues and clients when necessary

And for the sake of being up front about our expectations, your resume should hit a few bullet points:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Math, Statistics, Business, or Social Sciences or related field
  • Minimum two years market research experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must, experience with Qualtrics programming or SPSS a plus
