comScore: Yahoo Ranked First For Olympics Traffic  -  According to comScore, Yahoo’s Winter Olympics coverage (sports.yahoo.com/olympics/) attracted 32 million unique visitors from February 12 through 28, surpassing NBCOlympics.com and ESPN (19 million unique visitors each) during the same period. Visitors to Yahoo’s Olympics site spent 314 million total minutes on the site, compared with 218 million total minutes spent by visitors at NBC’s Olympics site.

The most searched athlete on Yahoo during the Vancouver Games was Lindsey Vonn.

Akamai Reports Heavy Traffic For Vancouver Games  -  According to data from Cambridge, MA-based Akamai, which delivers a large amount of Web traffic around the globe, the company delivered more than 5,000 hours of live and on-demand video for the Winter Olympics over 17 days, serving more than 30 concurrent live-streaming events at its peak (at one point streaming close to 374 Gbps of video).
